Claude Motion Pricing

There is no per-animation price. Motion rides on your plan's usage — and only two plans have it at all. The cheapest way in is about $50 a month.

No per-animation price

Claude Motion has no separate meter. It draws on the same allowance as everything else you do in Claude, and Anthropic is upfront that a Claude Motion animation is not cheap in those terms: longer or more complex animations use more of your limit than a typical message.

How much more is not published. Reports from people building similar code-animated videos with Claude put a polished 30 to 60 second clip at thirty minutes to over an hour of work and a sizeable share of a session's usage. A short animated chart is far lighter. Plan for Claude Motion the way you would plan for long coding sessions: a few substantial pieces per day, not dozens.

This is also why seat type matters on Team. Standard seats carry 1.25 times Pro's per-session usage; Premium seats carry 6.25 times. If one person on the team will produce most of the Claude Motion videos, that person is the one to give a Premium seat.

The cheapest way into Claude Motion

A Team plan with two Standard seats. At $25 per seat monthly that is $50 a month; billed annually, $20 a seat brings it to $40. That is the floor — Team requires at least two seats, so a solo creator pays for a seat they may not use.

Compared with Pro at $20, that is two and a half times the price for one beta feature and somewhat higher usage. Early reviewers have been blunt: turn Claude Motion on if your workspace already has Team, but do not upgrade just for it.

The calculation changes if you would use Team anyway — for shared projects, admin controls or the extra usage — or if Claude Motion would replace a paid tool. Teams currently paying for an animation subscription, or paying a freelancer for routine explainer clips, may find Claude Motion pays for itself within a month.

If you stay on Pro or Max

You can get most of the way there without Claude Motion. Pro and Max can already build a self-playing animated artifact — the missing piece is the MP4 button, which a screen recording covers. Claude Code users can go further with open-source tools like Remotion and HyperFrames, which render real MP4 files and handle audio. None of those cost more than the plan you already have.

What you give up is convenience: the editor, the one-click export, and the hand-offs to Adobe, Runway and the rest. Whether that is worth $30 a month more is the actual pricing question behind Claude Motion.

Claude Motion pricing questions

Is there a per-animation charge?
No. Claude Motion draws on your plan's normal usage. Anthropic says longer or more complex animations use more of the limit than an ordinary message.
What is the cheapest way to get it?
A Team plan. Standard seats are $25 per month or $20 billed annually, with a two-seat minimum, so roughly $40–$50 a month.
Is upgrading to Team worth it just for Motion?
Reviewers so far say no unless your workspace already has Team. Pro and Max users can get similar results through Artifacts, Claude Code, Remotion or HyperFrames.
Will Motion come to Pro later?
Anthropic has not said. It is a beta, and other Claude features have widened their plan coverage after beta before, but nothing about Motion's roadmap is published.

Is Claude Motion worth paying for?

Work it out from what Claude Motion would replace. If your team currently pays a freelancer for routine explainer clips, one or two Claude Motion videos a month covers the difference between Pro and a two-seat Team plan. If you use a paid animation tool only for animated charts and simple walkthroughs, Claude Motion can retire it.

If you produce one Claude Motion style video a quarter, the maths does not work. Pay for a single month of Team when you need it, or use the free routes on the alternatives page. Claude Motion is billed as part of a plan, not per clip, so occasional users subsidise capacity they never touch.

There is also the beta factor. Claude Motion is new, its limits are not fully published, and its plan coverage could change. Committing an annual Team contract purely for Claude Motion means betting on a feature whose final shape is unknown. Monthly billing costs $5 a seat more and keeps the exit open.

Finally, factor in usage. A Claude Motion animation consumes far more of a session than a chat message. Teams expecting heavy Claude Motion use should budget for Premium seats for the people producing the videos, or expect to hit session limits mid-project.
